1. Cattleya aclandiae 'Malibu' HCC/AOS Sold Out 'Malibu' is an awarded form of the Brazilian species with a dwarfish growth habit. Its excellently formed waxy four-inch flowers have olive-green sepals and petals with large dark-brown spots and blotches in a pleasing pattern. Its lip is unusually wide with pale-pink side lobes and a purple apex. 2. Encyclia adenocaula 'Nayarit' $50 This species (syn. Epidendrum nemorale) is known only from western Mexico. In nature it grows in rather dry oak and pine forests at three to six thousand feet. This clone, 'Nayarit', has showy sprays of large, star-shaped, rose-pink flowers with a wide pointed lip, veined with darker rose. 3. Cattleya amethystoglossa var. Sanderae 'Armacost' Sold Out Cattleya amethystoglossa has two major color variations--cultivars with a rose-lilac base color and cultivars with a creamy white base color. These latter are called variety Sanderae type, of which 'Armacost' is a classic example. This has been a Stewart Orchids® favorite for many years. The flowers have a creamy white base color and are heavily spotted. This clone blooms very reliably and is always an attention-getter. An excellent addition to any collection. 4. Cattleya amethystoglossa 'El Camino' Sold Out Found along the humid Brazilian coast of Bahia and Espirito Santo, this is an excellent form of a species that likes lots of light and warmth during its growing season. Give it a resting period after it flowers. 5. Cattleya amethystoglossa 'Hutch' AM/AOS Sold Out Among the finest forms of the species, 'Hutch' has rose-lavender sepals and petals with pronounced red-violet spotting. The lip is bright violet with a canary-yellow throat. The naturally very tall inflorescence presents an excellent arrangement of up to twenty-two flowers. It is cold tolerant and can be grown outside in coastal gardens in California. 'Charlotte' has long spikes with up to six rose-lavender blooms with distinctive pointed tips to segments. 9. Laelia Finkeniana 'Kennedy's' AM/AOS Sold Out 'Kennedy's' is an exceptionally fine cultivar of a natural hybrid between Laelia anceps and Laelia albida first described in 1885 from a collection of plants from the Pacific side of Mexico. Its sprays of delicate pinks make this very showy and awardable. 44. Cattleya forbesii 'Ilgenfritz' Sold Out Cattleya forbesii originates in the humid area of Rio de Janeiro. This bronze green cultivar is a superior form. It has a closed white lip with subtle red veins in the throat. 45. Brassavola glauca $60 This species from Mexico, Honduras and Guatemala was transferred to Rhyncholaelia by Schlecter in 1918 but is still known as Brassavola glauca.
